During the hot and sticky days this week I thought about when I was a kid and how air conditioning wasn’t as prevalent as it is today. Businesses such as theatres and bowling alleys would put up signs advertising their air conditioned interiors as a way to get your business.
We were in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula last week and I chuckled at some of the older motels along U.S. 2 that still have “Air Conditioned Rooms” as an extra selling point on their signs. Nowadays “Free Wi-Fi” is the “Comfortably Cool” for this generation.
So, I’m thankful for our central air and for an office in the basement. I definitely stay “Comfortably Cool” in the summer.
