It’s not that I don’t enjoy reading books throughout the year, but there is just something about summer that makes me want to read some great fiction. Perhaps the pull towards fiction and away from nearly all sources of non-fiction resides in some old habit formed back in grade school when we shouted “no more teachers, no more books!” as we ran out of our classrooms for the long summer break.
Summer is a time to slow things down a bit and a great way to do that is with some good books and gallons of lemonade and sun tea. So here’s what I’ll be reading this summer.
- Relentless – Dean Koontz
- Seize the Night – Dean Koontz
- Below Zero – C.J. Box
- Iron Lake – William Kent Krueger
- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
- The Scarecrow – Michael Connelly
- The Pardon – James Grippando
- The Winner – David Baldacci
- The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven – Sherman Alexie
- A Reliable Wife – Robert Goolrick
