I’m a bit late to the party on this as it is now the end of Banned Book Week, but I’ll throw my support out for it anyway. I’m surprised at the books that get banned as some of those on the list just make me scratch my head in wonder. Do yourself a favor and read at least one of the books on the list before passing judgment and deciding that if it’s banned it must be for a good reason. I don’t think there are good reasons to ban books.
- The Catcher in the Rye
- Beloved
- I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
- Cat’s Cradle
- Breakfast of Champions
- In the Night Kitchen
- The Martian Chronicles
- Rabbit, Run
- Slaughterhouse-Five
- The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
