Thumbs up from Ronald Reagan

by admin on October 13, 2009

Thumbs Up to the IRS for finally agreeing that my argument (which I presented to them nearly 2 months ago) was indeed correct and that I do not owe them any penalties.

Thumbs Down to the IRS for not agreeing to my arguments until after they twisted my arm with their threats and I had to pay the penalties while I waited for them to decide whether or not I actually was at fault.

Thumbs Down to the guy at the register at Biggby Coffee. I had over $100 in my PayPal account and wanted to use my PayPal card for a couple of lattes. The kid behind the counter swiped the card and in a sing-song voice nearly yelled, “It was D-NIED!” I thought he was joking at first until he unceremoniously shoved the receipt in my face. Thanks for making me look like a deadbeat, jerk.

Thumbs Up for my son’s excellent yearly checkup at the pediatrician. He’s healthy as a horse, great vision, and excellent hearing (now I have proof that he is merely choosing to not listen/hear čÖé ). A year ago at this time he had a cold that would not go away and eventually contracted pneumonia and received a one night stay in the hospital.

One final Thumbs Up goes to the PS22 chorus. It’s a super-talented group of kids that sing covers of anything from Jay-Z to Cat Stevens (or Yusuf Islam as he is now named).

Here they are singing ‘Pictures of You’ by The Cure –
