Smells of Summer

by admin on June 9, 2010

Tonight I was snuggling my daughter while trying to console her after she awoke from a bad dream. While I snuggled her, scents of strawberries, sunscreen, and whatever soap she used in place of lotion wafted my way and made me smile. To me, those are some of the smells of summer.

Now, to play a little ‘what little boys are made of’ versus ‘what little girls are made of’ my son’s summer smell is a tad bit different. Before his shower tonight he smelled of sweat, the earthy scent of dirt, and the sweet aroma of crushed grass. Again, those are the smells of summer, too.
