Yes, I pre-ordered the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet

by admin on October 20, 2011

For $199 the Kindle Fire, Full Color 7″ Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi is less than what I paid for my wife’s 3.5 inch screen iPod Touch last November.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the “drawbacks” for the Kindle Fire – Only 8 gigs of storage. No camera. No GPS. No microphone. No problem.

I have a cell phone. I have a camera. I have a GPS. I just wanted a tablet and have been waiting for one that really fit my needs, but didn’t break the bank.

In addition to the onboard storage you will have free access to the Amazon Cloud which is in fact, unlimited free storage. No cables necessary to sync and the Kindle Fire handles flash just fine (touche iPad).

The iPad weighs in at 21.6 ounces. Kindle Fire clocks in at just under a pound – 14.6 ounces.

I can’t wait until November 17th (the scheduled delivery date) to try this out. I’ll post a review of it at some point after that.
