Zach Sobiech lived a lot in his brief 18 years

by admin on May 22, 2013

Saw the video below posted on Facebook. I had not heard Zach Sobiech’s story until today and I watched the video with tears streaming down my face. Zach was one of the bravest young people I had ever seen living his life to the fullest every day.

Zach died on May 20th, but don’t say that he lost his battle with cancer. Check out what he said about his fight –

“I want to be remembered as a kid who went down fighting, and didn’t really lose.”

– Zach Sobiech

Here is Zach’s video for his song “Clouds” which went viral last December. He wrote this as a “goodbye” for his family and friends. Such a moving tribute.

Various celebrities and singers collaborated on a video of “Clouds” for Zach earlier this spring –

You don’t have to find out you’re dying to start living.

– Zach Sobiech

I went and bought his album “Fix Me Up” on Amazon. The 7 song album is catchy and I’ll never listen to it without thinking about Zach’s advice on making the world a better place – just make people happy. I am sure he is making others happy up in the clouds today.

Snippet of lyrics from “Clouds” –

We could go up, up, up
And take that little ride
And sit there holding hands
And everything would be just right
And maybe someday I’ll see you again
We’ll float up in the clouds and we’ll never see the end

And we’ll go up, up, up
But I’ll fly a little higher
We’ll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won’t be long now, it won’t be long now
